Christmas Day

In Slovakia, a big amount of people are Christian. On Christmas Day we celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ. He was born in Betlehem.

This day Slovaks usually only do small things because if they do some kind of work or chores it brings them misfortune. We do not even cook this day because on Christmas Eve we have already cooked much food. Christmay Day is mostly dedicated to meet up with our family and friends.
